    Hi all,

I need some help from the more experienced SEO’s here on DP.

I started my blog a year ago, it’s been going well and most importantly, I’ve enjoyed writing posts for it.

I originally just started the blog to keep my family up-dated as I moved away far from home, 6 months later I decided to cover my experiences with making money on-line. So it’s half business and half personal, which makes a change from other blogs…. I also cover my interests such as eating out and traveling.

I choose the domain name is under a minute, after all, I only planned on giving it to friends and family… the domain name at that time wasn’t important. I also made the mistake of hosting my domain name on a .co.uk extension – Although I’m from the UK – the blog has nothing to do with the UK.

Now I have big plans for my blog, I’ve had a one year test drive and am confident I can make it a success in branding myself for my SEO services… while keeping the original personal flavor.

This means changing the domain name, which I already have, which is on a .com

I would like advice on how to move the blog over, I guess I have 3 options:

    1) Add a small piece of text to every post explaining that I have moved my blog to a new domain. Add the old blog posts titles to my new blog, but have them linked to my old blog.
    2) Move all the content over to my new blog, and set up a 301 re-direct to the new pages on my new blog.

Has anyone had any experience with moving domain names? Can any advise which was is the best option?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
i have good experience with SEO, But i never moving whole domain to new one. But i had relocate all old .php pages to new .html page. and that site is doing well for me. i mean all pages are indexed properly and PR is also passed to those pages.
for that i had used 301 redirection, this will be good option,

i will not advise to use first option to you because, as u told u will put old content to new site and u will write msg on old page to go on new one. but google had already index that content on old site.now when u put same content on new site google will consider it copy content and u may face penalty for that.
it will be batter to go for 2nd option.

    all the best
