Hai every one, We want to add some content/Pages to our site....for that we wanted to know, wht is the best option /Value added for a website....Placing Sub domain pages or Landing pages??? ....which option does Google and Other major search engines give more preference...so that the pages can be easily index. Please tell me know....
Subdomain pages work great in Google if you need to break up your site a little. You would want to treat them like separate mini sites in terms of creating and maintaining content.
Think of your visitors first before you consider the search engines. If I am the visitor I want to see what the site is offering for the specific product that Im looking for. IMHO Basoone
As far as indexing goes, proper navigation and structure will allow both options to be indexed properly. Currently , Google considers subdomains as if they are a separate site. You will need to promote each subdomain, build links etc., just as if it is a separate site. This will be the case for each one you create. A landing page (folder) within a site will benefit from nav links within the site itself, often ranking it highly based just on those depending upon the competitiveness of the keywords especially when they're sitewide nav links. Unlike subdomains, getting directory links can be tough since they'd be deep links. Dave
If you have a store, you could set it up your landing pages like this. www.domain.com/blue-widgets.htm www.domain.com/red-widgets.htm These variations do not work well for subdomains. Subdomains are great for things like these: http://widgetblog.domain.com http://widgethistory.domain.com Then you can link it all together. Customers will like it and so will SE's.
