Best Open Source Shopping Carts

Hi

Can anyone recommend the best open source shopping carts? I need it so that the template can be easily customised and also the the cart it easy to use, because my client will be taking care of the cart side of things, so don't want anything overly complicated. I did a test site for a client a few years ago using Magento and they found it too overly complicated fot them, so it needs to be quite simple.

PS I have looked online at Prestashop but it had mixed reviews, some stated they love it, whilst others say the code it poor and the mods are too expensive and the support is poor, but then as I say you get others saying the exact opposite.

 

It all depends on your client's abilities. What will be trivial for some people will be impossible for others.

If your client has absolutely no experience coding websites, I'd say that nothing out there will be simple enough.

 

For me Magento is the best shopping cart but as Rukbat says it all depends on your client's abilities.

I think it is the prestashop. It is the best.

 

I looked at that before and it does look good, would of be too complicated for the client I mentioned above but I do like it.

Its depends on client knowledge and how much products are there in shopping cart, if products and category is limited than wordpress based wpcommerce or joomla based virtumart is best if product and categories are large than you can go with Zencart, oscommerce and the most famous or well known shopping cart is Magento.
