World of Warcraft is a very popular game because it covers various mmo player needs. You can choose to be a PvE Maniac, a fierce PvP player or just the guy that stops to smell the flowers and collect random things such as companions (little critters that follow you around) or mounts. The classes are very flexible, each having a 3 tier talent tree, thus allowing you adapt it to your needs. You have 2 factions to choose from and 10 very different classes to enjoy.

So yeah, WoW is my game :)

Gonna have to cast my vote for EverQuest. 16 expansions later, still playing it after almost 10 years. Although, I only raid anymore.

If you want to go the free to play route to save money and want to play a game like world of warcraft the best two FREE mmo's are allods online and runes of magic by far.

I prefer the free to play games even though I end up spending more on the 'specials' than I would on a monthyly pay-to-play game. I am a big fan of perfect world and jade dynasty.

EVE Online - Name a single other MMO that is constantly changing and improving the way this is. It's not just a simple 'we added a few more locations and extra classes and battlegrounds' (in other words, a map pack). These guys add entirely new content, gameplay, and ways to make your way through the universe.

    +1 for EVE
Although i didn't play for to long i always like to view players made movies with the game.

The best mmorpg is the one where you can be competitive (for me)!
My last mmo played was Aion (where i did fairly well) and in browse base was Dragon's Call.

miss this game, but won't be going back to it, it had a great run. played shadow priest on firetree mid last year and it was the most fun. There's so many goals to go after and PvP was very fun with top tier gear. For now play warcraft 3: Lithe on US west

Hands down whether we like it or not at this moment is World of Warcraft but there are many good mmorpg out there and several good ones coming up such as Final Fantasy and Star Wars.

I've only played 1 MMO, and that's Everquest.

I now play Everquest on emulated server, nothing happier to receive a 56/23 fists with +5 damage aug for my monky!

Never tired WOW, never will for fear of getting sucked in and unable to pull myself out.

I forgot..but I was additcted to Maples Story for a while, after that 1 time I helped my 12 year old sister jumping through the "Jumping" Quest..after 3 attempts at that quest...I was hooked onto MS for 2 frigging years! That's 2 years of my youth gone.

Lesson learnt is stay away from games, if you don't have self control or weak willpower... make money instead!

World of Warcraft is still the most popular game. Most of the mmorpgs have free trials now and you can just hop in a couple and see what you like.

Hands down, WOW is a great game plently of things to do and you can focus on that. All the classess have something to offer for your playstyle.

If anyone fancies playing on a EU server, lemme know so i can invite you, and we can get X3 XP.
