Article on Search Engine Journal sees BOTW is moving up and going for more content. BOTW is already a Top notch directory and hiring more editors means its topping the list and having more submissions than ever before.
Popo I thought you were going to bring us news of penalities or something worse. This is definately good news and a great step in the right direction. I wonder how much they pay their editors...
I agree with some of the posts there that hiring editors from a very corrupt source like dmoz could be a bit risky
I would not disclose it but its definitely BIGTIME. Well the editors they hired are the top class and some having business offline and others employed at great comoanies in US, Europe and Australia. I know all of them and as you know they are even here like compostannie, robjones, dogbows etc. That is definitely a nice move and seems that no matter what Google does the industry moves forward with people still believing in Quality Directory Submissions. My view is directories are and still is the best way of getting BL and no matter what G does the industry will still be there.
I agree 100%. We're really excited to get them on board, and are confident that they'll help us in building a better resource for users. Thanks for taking notice
I wonder if this means extra features, turning it into more of a portal, or adding more free listings (especially non-commercial ones), or both? Nice find. Glad to see you're back, Popo.
Hardly Bigtime. It takes no skill whatsoever to place a press release into PR Web - I have 2 in there as it was free. I have a news story in a leading national newspaper to my credit and more press to come (hopefully), but I'm biting my tongue until I'm nationally known, before spreading the word on the web. I said 'hopefully more press coverage' as from experience I know it's so tough for directories to be heard, and Journalists are difficult to impress. The only thing BOTW has going for it, is it lists quality websites, but it's based on editor opinion, which is only personal at the end of the day - and not fact. I do have an issue when webmasters do this kind of thing, 'setting up a quality directory', when so many have done it previously - thus it's hardly unique..... Why copy someone else, be original and see results instead.
