What is the best method to encourages viewers to post items, when having a website that revolves around user's submiting items. For example if you have a business directory, how could you encourage viewers to post businesses??
You have to come up with a good revard system, maybe revenue sharing, or you can hire people who will enter stuff for you.
Do a joint venture with other business sites, exchange links and then member see your link and go to your site if its connected to a big site people will submit becuase they can see it will make them traffic. Plus connections to a bigger name gives you credibility and an extra link meaning more search engine traffic and even more submissions.
Maybe a forum and run contests or offer free stuff as an incentive. Or you could offer free ebooks that will get them in
