Best method of getting Pagerank 6 to 7

Hi guys,

I was just thinking,

in order to get to Pagerank 6 - 7, which way will be better if I am spending money to buy links

5 links from PR 6 - 7 sites or maybe 20 links from PR 2 - 3 sites + 1 link from a PR 6 site?

Will this be enough to boost my PR?

If he gets 10 PR6 backlinks his PR will increase to about 6 and guess what, his SERPs will increase too!

 

live-cms makes a point that most of you "PR IS STUPID!!!!!1111" people seem to miss -- if you work to increase your PR by gaining quality backlinks, your rankings will improve. Not directly because of the PR, but as a result of the new inbound links.

High PR is like being overweight. Being overweight doesn't make you unhealthy -- it's the things that contribute to the weight that make you unhealthy (high cholesterol, liver problems, whatever). Same with PR. High PR doesn't help your ranking much, but the things that contribute to it (lots of good IBLs) will make a difference.

That being said...

Most people think that each level of PR requires 5-10 times more links than the previous. I personally think it's around 6x, but no one outside of Google knows for sure.

That means if you're a PR6 right now, you need at least 5 times as many total inbound links to move up to a 7. I'm guessing that's a lot more than the numbers you suggest.

Also, the PageRank passed from a page is divided among all of the outbound links. You can't just say "a link from a PR7 site". Are there 100 other links on the page? Or 5? It makes a big difference.

I would prefer getting links from only high PR sites which are totally relevant to your site. In this case, you can have the best of both worlds (traffic and backlink). Obviously, links from PR 5 - 6 sites are better and can help great deal for your site.

 

If you want some pagerank 6 to 7,then you have to buy some pr6-7-8 backlinks.

 

Or earn them!

 

Good luck explaining to 80% of DP the definition of "earning a backlink", I'm tried and failed over and over again.

 

I agree that traffic is more important than PR, however it is still a good indicator of how well you are doing with your website.

 

if you buy link from high pr pages and wait for pr update at your site,i think google will ban you!You must create backlinks from low pr pages too!They will probably think you bought that links if you dont have too much backlinks!

 

the 5 links from a pr6 might get you to a pr5
it would take a lot more to get to a 6, and a ton more money to get to a 7

 

The best way to "get"a PR7 is to use iwebtool.

This for me highlights the #1 misconception when it comes to the real value of PageRank.

If you're going to rank well on Google for specific search phrases, you need a PageRank of 4 and above...

To the OP, the number of links required to get a PR 7 has gone up from the equation calculator sites that are around. (note// I cant prove this, its just my theory)

The calculators are wrong....Google has devalued PR, hence to get a high pR you need more high quality backlinks than ever before.

I would guess they dont need to republish a new patent for the amended algo because it is a development on their existing PR patent anyway ..

which means that no one knows for sure except Matt Cutts and his friends
