    Hi folks -

I need to get a new merchant account for one of my websites which sells fitness therapy products - this was a site I bought last year and the previous owner was using Nova through merchantconnect.com and Auth.net as his gateway. Nova seems kind of expensive and they want a 3 year contract plus a 195 activation fee / 5 dollar statement fee..

I need to get something up and running quickly - does anyone have any recommendations or deals. Someone who is reliable and a good deal. Please PM me or post it here.

    Thanks!

Nova is somewhat expensive, but they have the best support for new online busineses. Personally, Nova is the only processor that I would trust with a new online business. They can handle growth better than any other processor I have dealt with which is extremely important for new online businesses.

The application fee is unnecessary, and should be waived. Nove doesn't charge that, so the provider should have no problem getting rid of it.

As far as the cancellation fee goes, some companies will waive it. Make sure you get that part in writing, because the provider cant remove it from the application.

As far as the statement goes, $5 is super cheap nowdays. $10 is not uncommon.

What rates are they quoting. Nove rates are normally 2.25% and up.
