We're looking to start hosting advertising on our site and want to put together a killer media kit. Does anyone happen to have a great one we could look at to get a sense of what we should have? Or know of a site/company that has a great one we could look at? Thanks!
It doesn't have to be that complicated. Just tell them what they want to hear. ie. Important traffic stats such as page views, uniques and demographics.
OK someone obviously took what I said the wrong way. BY saying "tell them what they want to hear" I didn't mean falsify info, I was saying tell them the important stuff they would likely be interested in. Thanks for the love though.
Look at any major company's site. They'll usually have an online media kit or press room. Since it sounds like you primarily want it for advertising purposes, think about whatever you would want to know if you were buying ad space, and include it. Some large companies with pretty thorough kits would be Google, Microsoft, About.com, etc. Those will probably be more involved than what you'll need to do, but you'll get the gist of what should be included.
directoryM is a big player if you have lots a cash to throw at a major media marketing firm. They have various packages available for small-large businesses.
just a quick dropby: statistics and numbers are important for media kits. other then that, get a good designer. As in A Designer. Not someone who has photoshop and could only make designs for web. imho. Cheers!
