Hey guys, I'm 18 on summer holidays and struggling to find a job anywhere, so I thought i'd try online. Seems, loads of members on here are earning money some way or another, wondering if anyone could give me advice on where to start? I'm from the UK and can work for a couple of hours per day, but, I'm a complete newbie! Could anyone direct me to any sites or ebooks that I can learn from, or the best/ easiest way to make a bit of money online over this summer? Thanks a lot in advance! Frazier
First, start reading. There are many many different ways to make money online. Some are harder than others. Some methods may take months to show any results and other methods can have you earning cash within a few days. The best way to determine what you can do to make money online quickly is write down a list of your computer skills. If you are very very new to computer and the internet, I would suggest either writing for other people or joining a paid to click site. From there you will make yourself some little bit of money and will begin learning about the wonderful world of internet marketing. The best advice I ever got was, "The internet, this is business 2.0, its still business, just 10 times faster."
Just don't believe anyone who offers you a get-rich-quick solution. You will have to do some work and it will take time. If you are good at writing, try offering article writing service. Lots of people need content on their websites and once you've built your reputation you can earn a nice amount of money. If not into writing, start making websites. Amazon promotion is good and it works for me. But it will take time.
Article writing sounds interesting. Any idea how much you can make from that kinda thing? Obviously I know it wont be much but I guess I have to start somewhere!
Article writing is not an easy niche to be able to make an income from due to the number of people that are offering the 'service'. The amount that you can earn is purely based on how good your content writing skills are, meaning that if you are going to produce quality, interesting articles then you are going to make more money than if you were offering up articles that you clearly had no knowledge of the subject. I have written within the online poker niche for a number of years before moving into a professional SEO role and at my peak i could charge as much as $0.10 per word due to the resulting quality being much higher than something that you would have bought from someone without my knowledge. As you start out you will see that people are unwilling to offer you any real sort of payment for your articles until you have proven your ability, so expect to maybe get as little as $2.50 per article of 500 words from the off. My advice would be to spend a few hours writing articles about subjects that you know about, meaning that the content can flow rather than reading as if it has been forced into a document from research that you have done. Build a portfolio of work with the use of guest posting and article directories, remain professional and work will some become too much to handle! Good luck
I think the best idea for you would be article writing (if you are good at that kind of thing). I say this because it's faster than site building, both in time to set up and time to get paid. Building your own sites takes time and the results are very slow, i'm going by my own experience here. Until you rank well in the search engines you wont get any good quality traffic and people wont want to pay to advertise on your site. Other ideas you could think of are logo design/web design? I'm sure someone else will come along and suggest other ideas to you too. Good luck!
Cheers fro the replies guys, might take a look at article writing! Need a few more posts before I can make a thread in the jobs section!
Have a think about what your talents are and then see how they fit in with what people are looking for. It's always going to be easier making money doing something you enjoy or have a natural aptitude for.
Yeah, try with the article writing first, but you defiantly will need a portfolio. The easiest way to get it is to send a few articles to ezine, articlesbase, goarticles etc. Good luck!
There isn't a "easy way" to make money online, they all take a lot of time and hard work to be honest, I mean you can start learning with 1-2 hours per day, but don't expect to see any decent income for the first few months of learning, you'll want to save some money to invest in your internet marketing efforts, webhosting, domain names etc.
Hi Frazier, have a think about what type of area that you would like to move into firstly as you could bog yourself down with a mountain of unnecessary online information if you`re not careful.
