Jobber, D. (2001), Principles and Practice of Marketing

a good comprehensive read - finished it about 6 weeks ago.

    I'm currently reading

Marketing Strategy: A Decision Focused Approach, 5th Edition Walker-Mullins-Boyd

Which is quite interesting - looks at how marketing affects corporate strategy. Not really that useful for small business though.

These are both academic books which i have read/am reading towards my degree.

Another thing you could do is do an academic journal search on google. Journals are usually between 10-30/40 pages long and are usually quite complex...but if you like a read that is going to stimulate you intellectually go for it!

This one isnt exactly a marketing book (has one section on sales) , but still I would like to recommend it.

Brian Tracy' s The 100 Absolutely Unbreakable Laws of Business Success

    It's practical and well written.

It may not be the right choice for someone seeking advanced strategies, but for someone going on a vacation , it's a good pick... something that you will enjoy reading.
