What do you think are the best looking Directories online?

I am a newb when it comes to Directories but i have one question.

Why is it that not many Directories change the template of the Default Script?

 

Exactly, seeing alot of standard templates, but imo if you want to put out your directory create a unique design, select your niche (or make it general), work on the categories and have a strict submission policy.

When looking at the top large web directories on the internet they all have a unique design.

Perhaps not the best looking directory ever!
But if you have seen it before you will for sure think it´s a lot better now.

 

Well, compared to how it looked last week, Frog Engine Search is looking a lot better

 

I like the Frog Blog

 

I just like them simple and easy to suggest links and navigate through. All the fance graphics and links all over the place isn't pretty to me when I've got to spend 5 minutes figuring out where to submit a link or to find where the link will go.

What makes a directory good looking? The logo and the color of the text?

I have been planning to run a best looking directory competition on Directory Critic. I just have to think of a prize, I already have the voting scripts written. It's about time the people who put a lot of work into their directoy design got some recognition I reckon!
