We always wonder what Google and other search engine consider to be the best links for our website. From my humble view THE BEST LINKS you can get get to rank must come from your own website. There're lots of discussions on how search engines treat links from your own domain and stuff. But if you don't link to your own articles why would anybody else link to them??? Imagine you promote a page and you have no links from your own website referring to that page why would search engines think the page is important even if you (the owner) don't want to place some links to it from your own website? Wonder what other people have to say about it? PS: I always say that google just tries to emulate human behaviour and thus links from your own website are the most important links you can get.
Link on your own site is important too, it is partial of the on-page SEO. And backlink also can not be ignored since they play important roles on off-page SEo
It took me a long time to realize that links from my own domain counted towards my sites' reputation. But backlinks from other high profile sites is important too. I think mixing articles and hubs and the concept of link wheels gets great results from Google.
Try to be as honest as possible. On page SEO focuses on interlinking pages on your own website so that all your pages are properly crawled. This is why wordpress is so popular. It supports recent comments, recent posts, popular posts, popular comments etc. Google has designed it's ranking procedure based on the number of valid links pointing to a page. It doesn't matter if you don't link to other websites (you do that to get a link back from that other website in most cases). As long as your content is valid and unique, some website will link to you in time. On page SEO also insists that you create properly tagged posts with valid html elements such that each and every line in your website has a purpose. Off page SEO is something that you really can't work on ethically. It includes directory submissions, article marketing, spamming D) and a barrage of other methods. If you content is unique and has some quality, your website will rank.
I don't find article marketing unethical. But I can see where you are coming from. It does have a stygma due to so much spam.
If google tries to emulate human behavior, than it is not obvious at all, that you linking to your own pages more important , than others doing that. Because if only I say something is cool, that doesn't indicate that others do so as well. So it seems that integrated strategy works better.
Internal linking is one of factor for SEO. we should do proper internal linking with proper anchor text, it will help us in the SERs.
He was saying nothing but making sure that his VirtualShytMarket.com apears one more time on this forum.
On-age SEO should be taken care on the designing stage and yeah article or any other way of promotion should contain your site link.I do that all the time
Sorry for the late response, i was in AMAZING THAILAND On Site SEO: Build the links for Google on the site, make the most important pages and landing pages, linked from most pages. Link to the Homepage and the most informative pages, make sure to keep all links with same anchor to the same pages. SEO the site itself. On Page SEO: Make sure the meta and links on the page are real, goes to the relevant pages and comes from the relevant pages inside the site. EAch link on the page is important if it goes to other pages on the site, and even more important if it goes external, make them less as possible. External SEO: Need to talk more about the importance of external links ? Take care
Inner links are not kind of recommendation, they are merely a way to connect all the web pages of a website for the convenience of navigation. Then why does it is given so much importance during page ranking??
I largely agree with your points but the point It doesn't matter if you don't link to other websites (you do that to get a link back from that other website in most cases). makes me think differently. As far as all of us know Google hides more than what it tells on its webmaster guidelines site and elsewhere. It is all over the place, saying back links are going to be considered a votes of popularity but is silent on how it looks at internal links. Somewhere it also says web by virtue of having the greatest democratic nature, only improves when you also link to other people. Now I don't know whether it means just that or more. Being intrigued, I ran a short test some 3 years ago just to check whether it values relevant outbound links and my new blog was ranked PR3 (it slipped off after I stopped working on it) in no time. All I did is just add 10 links every half a day for three months. SERP increased amazingly and the blog was in the first page (10th spot) soon after. This sort of vindicated my hunch partially. I say partially because the blog was on blogspot.. I am in total agreement with you about On page SEO also insists that you create properly tagged posts with valid html elements such that each and every line in your website has a purpose. In the end, you added true value, thanks
