building backlinks in a nutshell.... Comment on blogs, submit to directories(there are thousands), sign up to social bookmarking sites, become active on forums...paid links , link exchanges, etc try to keep within your niche otherwise the backlinks wont help much for PR
I've to admit this has helped me to certain extent too. Not always the case, as there can be some blogs that uses no-follow tag, but nonetheless, you still get some backlink to your site.
you can submit your blog to some good PR directories, commenting on other blogs and leaving a link to your blog from the forums related to your niche.. and many more ways there. Good luck.
Internal links are worth while too make sure you have a good internal linking structure and consider adding more pages to your site. Based around relevant things people search for.
Easy, Low Value Links: Directories: -info.vilesilencer.com/ - or outsource it to India www.submitedge.com Articles: -Ezine Articles is going to be your best bet Social Media: The big DO FOLLOW Ones -Digg -Reddit -Now Public -Mixx -Slashdot -Wirefan -Shoutwire Link Bait: This is the most time consuming, difficult but potentially rewarding technique 1. Write an informative article, resource list or create a funny video or something informative. 2. Post that content on your website 3. Setting up a tracking URL using in Adwords Campaign Tools. Enter a source and medium so you can track results later. 4. Submit that tracking URL to Digg, Reddit, Propeller, Delicious, Mixx and StumbleUpon (I believe Stumble parses out the tracking variables however) 5. Get a group of buddies to Digg your story on Digg. Or ask an Indian SEO agency to start clicking your story. They usually have proxies. 6. Have your story Digged about 80-100 times. You have a very good chance of hitting page 1. If this occurs you will get roughly 10,000 visitors within 5 hours. 7. Rinse and Repeat for Stumble, Mixx, Reddit and Delicious. 8. Check your tracking campaign in Analytics, look at the results and measure your backlinks over the course of the next month. This is only effective if you have kick ass content, or something hilarious. But when done correctly, the benefits are priceless. Hey, thats a promising one, can you pm me some DP members that acttualy do it or some companies? Appreciated.
Agreed. Press Releases can be a great delivery method for linkable content. I would go with a service such as Business Wire as they distribute to the major hubs. Some cheaper alternatives would be: PRWeb ($80), Webwire ($20) If you really got the cash, I hear URLwire is the best. Its a selective service run by Eric Ward. He is the guy who basically invented link building.
