Best linking strategy for a blog network?

Hey guys, I am new to the whole blog network thing, and I was wondering what the best linking strategy would be? Lets say for example you have three blogs (for simplicities sake).

    Thanks in advance,

A->B->C (and back to A again if you want) imo :)

One thing you might want to do is make them mostly internal links you give (ie, subpages). The pages will link to themselves & help out with other long tail SERPs instead of just focusing it all on the main.

This is called three way linking strategy where your each blog will get one backlink.

I agree with Random Guy regarding internal links.

But if you use the A->B->C->A strategy, couldn't Google theoretically figure out what is going on? Has there been any known instances of a penalty doing this?

If they're on blogger, they already know. Then there's all the other search engines who wouldn't know :)

Don't worry about a penalty unless you go overboard... if the pages are relevant, they'll still count. And even if they're not, they'll still count a bit.
