Best Link Color for Adsense

    Hi all,

After finishing the designed of my first site i was getting an average of 1.5 to 3% CTR. As other publisher I thought it could be improved so I decided to play around with the adsense placement and link color.

Two days ago I did a big change in ad placement by changing link colors and removing the ad links from the bottom of my pages which I thought would not attract any clicks. For my suprise after the changes my CTR dropped to 0.25%...hahah I really don't know whether I should laugh or cry about it.

I did something else which was basically placing an image (graphic designed) on top of my 460x+0 ads to attract the eye of my visitors plus make my site look more professional. I am actually very happy with the look now and don't believe that the image breaks the TOS. Then I changed the link color of the ads to the same color of the page links which in opnion look great.

Now I am really lost with the whole placement thing...I read that you should leave the adsense links in blue beacause it is standard and everyone knows that they refer to a hyperlink. Unfortunately i believe that would look ugly on my site and would not blend properly.

The whole point here is do discuss which LINK COLOR IS BETTER TO USE? Soft colors, strong colors or the common blue.

and how about the ad links, do you think they worth a try?

    Thanks all...

the site is on my signature... (Cyndi Lauper Site)

Place your adlinks like site navigation. Best Link Color for your ads is the same with your link site.

    Good Luck.

I personally never did well with blue links. I know everybody always says use blue, but, I like to use black or grey

Title of the ad should be the same color of the title of the article. Use the same color for url and text.

I have found there usually are two methods people use:
    1) no contrast: title = website's title and/or links, text = website's text, url = website's links or the usual blue or light gray
    2) high contrast: make it different from the rest of the text, to attract attention (but it should blend nicely with the rest of the page)

I use method 1 and works ok for me but I think it depends on the website. In my case people actually read what I have to say and then click on the ads to get more information. That's why I make them look like part of my website.

i believe the best colour for the adsense is colours which are matching your theme .

i have checked your site . i think you must use grey or pink as adsense colours (which are matching your theme)

    There's 2 options:
1 - matching colors to your site
2 - bold colors that make your ads stick out

No particular color works better then another... at least that I can figure out :)

Agreed with many guys said......best color is the color using which you can present your ads like normal / other links on site. Seriously, I have seen noticeable difference when I did it.

Thanks for the great feedback! I am going to start changing the color of the ad links to pink, my only problem is that you have to do them one by one.

One feature that I would love to see in Adsense is that when choosing the ad link colors, you select a channel and when you want to change the color you just do it by changing the settings of that specific channel under your account and that will change all ad links displayed under that channel...

It can be very painful, specially when you have so many ad units..

Match the ads with link color no matter what the link color on your site is. Make all links same color people will realize that they are links not just text.

Black or grey i would never thought you would get clicks on ads. What is text in page if links are black or grey.
