I am currently undergoing a revamp of one of my Retail stores and using Magento as my system of choice. Does anybody know of a tried and tested homepage layout, i.e. new products, best sellers, coming soon etc. I have seen some sites with information overload on the main page and others with no information at all, just a big picture and a menu! Any thoughts or suggestions?
Simple is always better IMO because you will lose customers if they can't find the things they are looking for quickly. Just check out the big sites in your niche and see what they are doing layout wise. I bet you will see a common theme between them all.
