I believe that it all depends on what you use the laptop for as to what might be considered the best laptop. Someone into gaming might think that the Dell Alienware is the best when others who use a laptop for work might look into getting a Mac. It also depends as to what programs you want to have on your laptop and the other issue is if you need a webcam installed in it. Acer and Asus also have good laptops but the customer service might not always be the best.
@DreamingBig That was well said, yes individual needs and tastes *really* do determine what a good laptop is.
Sony and HP are best laptops in its working. I have Sony Vaio Core i5 for more than 3 years. And i wana tell you folks its the best laptop to use. I also have a laptop of HP but Sony Vaio is best for my use as i work on my laptop.
If you have budget then of course Apple Mac is best. Give first priority to it then you can but HP as well. It has also nice features. But can you please tell me that for which kind of requirement, you want to buy laptop.
And to you I say, yes Samsung computers really are effing fantastic, although I would say the battery life isn't as good as others. I posted mine up for sale atop the hardware section. Tell your friends!!! But seriously hp sucks dirty donkey-butt. The only one's that work are the ones that have barely anything in them so there's nothing in em to break, burn out or overheat.
IBM aree the superb although their shape is not as good as others but performance vies they are outstanding.

For me it depends on the person's style and preference. I owned a Dell and HP laptop and it was great. Dell have an excellent customer service. If you have any questions or concerns, they will gladly help you. I will highly recommend Dell. They the new Laptop Inspiron 7000 Series that is thin and powerful.
There cannot be a straight forward answer to this question, because it is depend on the requirements of the user. For me, I will go with DELL.
