From the screenshots, these free Joomla templates look pretty high quality: http://www.joomlashack.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=171&Itemid=43
This is great joomla template gallery I ever seen. You can read reviews before buying template, download, demo, rate etc. More information visit bestofjoomla.com
Gavick juste released its december template. In my opinion, it rocks, clean, fast and usable. No useless modules. Hell of a good job. I believe this guy currently makes the best joomla templates http://www.gavick.com/templatesdemo/dec2007/
One more word on templateplazza. They reduced the number of templates to be produced monthly. Some of their templates still do not work, please check their forums before buying in. many people grumping around
Recently signed up with RocketThemes ... YooTheme has goodones as well but i liked one i saw on RocketTheme more...
At the end of 2008, how's the list looking now? I use JA and RT. I'm disappointed with both for different reasons, but they're OK. They each are strong where the other is weak, and vice versa. Both however are fundamentally flawed like all other Joomla template clubs except JoomlaPraise: they are not using J1.5 template overrides to produce as close as you can get in Joomla to fully tableless, semantic design. I just discovered today that Joomlapraise has done this, and all the stuff they are offering now is pretty impressive. Has anyone tried Joomlapraise?
the design of joomlapraise templates is too simple. They should put more money in it. I won t buy a template with too simple design. If I can do it myself, why should I buy i from joomlapraise? Look at rt, gavick, joomlart, youjoomla and templateplazza, coding, rt tribune or blogplazza , or the last sport from youjoomla would take me time , coding the last joomlapraise is something I could think about. So...so far, not enough to get me signed up there
