Yep Jamit Job Board seems to be taking over the lead, with its new release of 3.0+ they now support plug-ins, such as news(CMS), JobFair, and a lot more. If you are starting up a small job site (small in the sense not like naukri or monster), this is the best script. I have customised it to the best I could understand even changing the title, adding location field to it to increase keywords on title and a lot of things similar to it.
Thanks. I think this is the one I will use. I guess I will need to get the template redone though, it is not that pretty. I am very pleased with the features it has though. I just wished it had a 'Contact Form'. Thanks
The New Version has plugins, and modules. I can do a new design, add modules and few other things for a small fee let me know, if you are interested
Thanks. Have you done a template for jamit before? Can I see examples? It would be nice to have a simple layout like indeed.com. I guess since you are a SEO, you know how about friendly designs.
What's the code structure like? Is it written using classes(oops) and commented to make it easy to understand and customise? Why do you think that it may not serve the purpose for big sites... Not scalable... Not structured...problems with performance.. why??
Hello, Yes you can get jobthread. You can make on like this http://ajobinmanhattan.jobthread.com/ (you can host it on your own domain) but you would need to know some coding. Or you can do one like this http://www.dottnetjobs.com/ which doesnt need coding. Its kind of empty, but you get the idea. They share revenue. You get 50, they get 50. You could also set your job board to be for free.
There's a lot in hotscripts.com but most of the free job boards there are not error free, and if it's error free, it's very simple
I recently purchased Jamit as it looked like the best and I'm trying to install. I'm getting a 406 error (never have seen that error before!) with their installation script. It also says "cannot connect to server". Everything uploaded fine and all permissions are set correctly. Anybody have an idea what could be causing this? I haven't heard back from their support since submitting a ticket last night.
They will reply back to your ticket hold your breath. It usually takes 24 hours or some times even less, I have heir support ticket experience.
I have 3 Jamit sites running. If you compare to a Jobbex site ($4000 or around their) you will find that Jamit has all the same features as Jobbex, if not more. However... I am completely turned off by the templates that are available. I like the new template for webscribble, though. I really wish Jamit would put as much effort into making a clean, attractive, and professional looking template as they do in making a great job board. Now after saying that... I think jamit is the best job board on the market. If you can make a clean, attractive, and professional looking template for Jamit I'd be interested in doing some business with you. Please PM me with a link to some examples if you are interested.
Hey Steve I think they are working on some additional new templates. That will be a better starting point for tweaking what they offer. Some other people are starting to do them now too. Look on their developer partner page and you will see a couple people that will do them for you. I though Jobbex was more like 5 or 6 thousand? Still working on my "406 error" :-(
Imran I might do that. The guy at Jamit is supposedly doing an install for me but it has been a while. I don't want my domain to be down much longer! Although I might just delete everything and start over myself.
Imran thanks but I got it installed now. It was a CPanel issue. The templates they have on their site....Do you just upload those files to your server and that's or do you need to do some other things first?
Its just like wordpress. Upload the template files to the ...include/themes directory. Go into the admin section and find the 'main config' page. go towards the bottom and there you can change templates.
Hello Steve, They actually have some nice new themes out. 3 of them. Sorry for the off topic: Is anyone willing to sell an established job board? If you are, i would be willing to purchase it. Thanks and sorry for the diversion.
