Hi, I am currently using ukhost4u which seem reasonable but look around on the net ive noticed that the domain fees are a lot higher than elsewhere (9.99 +VAT). I was looking at godaddy which looks quite good but wasn't sure if it has support for multiple domains. I want to be able to host quite a few sites - what do you guys suggest? Thanks Jamie
I like www.site5.com or www.dreamhost.com (I prefer dreamhost if I'm going shared [use the PROMO code ultradiscount - if you purchase, it will give you a discount]). I haven't been on shared hosting for a while though, but those companies are great if that's what you're looking for. Good prices too Also bear in mind, if you do a search on this forum, you will find countless other threads on the same topic.
I like www.site5.com too. I only ever use shared hosting. With 50GB of bandwidth & unlimited disk, I've never maxxed them out. I also like how you can set up one "master" site, and then add on additional domains to the same account. -Tony
THE worst host host ever, GoDaddy. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! Bad plans, bad support, and a website that looks like a retard organized it (you'll never find an answer on that website!) I just recently signed up with 1and1.com and they are great. Have some nice shared plans.
When I was on shared hosting, I used Site5 and was quite happy. I still have 2 accounts with them for different organizations that I work for, but my primary hosting is on a dedicated server because I neeed full control over my settings. I highly recommend site5 as well. I know their staff and management quite well.
I like 123 webhost only because it only cost 6.95 per month, customer service is not the best but price is good!
Some friends on mine use 1and1 and they are 100% satisfied with it. http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/Ho...frame=_top&__lf=Static&__sendingdata=1&host=1
I use 1and1 because they gave me a great package (on paper) free for three years, but they seem to have a real problem with access speads to their MySQL servers... I think that, once the three years are up, I'll take it elsewhere. I don't like hosting serious sites in Europe anyway... MCS x
