Yes, HostGator India will be the best choice for hosting in India. But, I think they haven't started accepting netbanking and India bank debit cards yet. I believe they will start these services soon.
They have started accepting netbanking and Indian debit/credit cards. You need to send email to with your account information. Billing in Indian Rupee will start soon and there will be 10.3% service tax as per Indian laws.
Friend please dont go for hosting providers in India. I had very bad experience because they dont spend more for quality Hosting setup. My request is to spend more and go for hosting company which is present in the industry for long years.
@dreamtoget even i feel the same.. because hosting company in India only look for money and offer cheap hosting deal... but with Hostgator coming to India I guess things will change some bit..

If I were you I would stick with a united states provider on the west coast, it will be cheaper and faster, as that country doesn't have the best of speeds to most places.
IMO Hostgator can't defeat Host.co.in The local market is well captured by this company and their service is good as well.
