    Hi Friends,

I need a gud Database Hosting for an ecommerce website with more than 1000 product listings and 10K + orders in db.

My current hosting provider MySQl performance is very low.

    Please suggest the top providers

You want your database to be on the same server as your web server unless you are going to spend some serious money on multiple servers connected by a direct connection. What sort of site traffic and what platform is your site using? How is your current hosting setup right now?

I've used about 10 hosts and most all suck, except the last one I tried and still using: hostmonster. MySQL runs fast and reliable. Have a an all-mysql dependent website and get 300k visits/mo and just used their basic $8/mo shared account until only recently upgraded to pro. I've never had any issues with hacking. Site only went down twice in 2 years (still frustrating, but I haven't found any better). Support is great. It's because the owners is a hands on techie guy and takes pride in his work. OThers seem to cut corners (costs) and use crappy overbooked servers. I will also say that the absolute worst host I ever used was 3ix. The price lured me in, but they get hacked an average of once a month and you lose your site. They don't do squat to bring it back and they also take down your website completely if it gets too much traffic. What a joke!

Believe it or not, I've had pretty good luck with Godaddy for db stuff. I wouldn't use them for a lot of my stuff, but I've got a few sites with them and haven't had any db issues
