don't go for any start up or reseller plan , buy your own dedicated server and host more then + 20 to + 50 sites and take $$$$$ from google adsense with in few days. wonder
i think you could get away with a 1.8 not too sure though. if you want a host read the host's TOS though before you do anything and even contact them to check you're allowed to use a proxy, I would start with a small host though to test what kind of bandwidth i will need.
Ok, I think I'll start with a web host with 100 gb bandwidth, then maybe change to a dedicated server or something if I need more.
I'm looking for the same thing, a good proxy hosting server. I'm low budget for now but I want to at least make returns on adsense before I try to go to the next level. Does anyone have any good hosts? I don't have money to run a dedicated server just yet. And does anyone know about how much bandwidth a certain amount of users use?
Shared proxy hosting sucked. I've been hosting 4 proxy sites and the bandwidth was 3 GB/day each a few days ago, so bandwidth wasn't a problem. But yesterday I woke up to find that my account was suspended for high CPU/memory or whatever usage. I hope to have my new VPS account up and running in a few hours...
FDCServers/net (One of the oldest, biggest and cheapest in the industry) Zenex5ive/com (They are FDC resellers, but the support is simply amazing and the prices are sweet) SoftLayer/com (Pretty reliable, although they are expensive and the support is a bit disappointing) LayeredTech/com (Good value for money and quality support) DedicatedBox/net (Not so cheap, support is a bit lacking but they’re quite reliable)
I'm specialized in proxy hosting and have started to offer VPS's as well. I have been hosting people's proxies for 2 years and have never had a complaint. I take care of abuse complaints and optimize the servers etc. My contact is on my website if you need more info. thewird
This may sound like a dumb question, but, are you talking about running your own server from home? Roughly how much would an ISP charge for bandwith to run it right? Would this be cheaper than going through an online host?
You would have to pay out the ass to run it from home and the connection still wouldn't be that great. You aren't even allowed to host websites on any normal cable/dsl plan. thewird
what is the best hosting options for someone starting fresh in proxies?? which hosting did you first choose ? VPS? Dedicated?
VPS is fine if your proxy is brand new but if its an established proxy, theres no chance it will run on a VPS and would need a dedicated. thewird
