Can you guys tell me what is the best hosting service available for ecommerce (php 5.0 mysql), i need something that is fast with maximum uptime. Currently i am using ixwebhosting and there uptime is horrible. Please help, also i see in the other posts lot of people trying to promote there own hosting plans, but i am more so interested in honest opinions. If you were to advertise do state so.

    Thanks

I would go with the above recommendation (HostGator) assuming that I didn't use my own service. ;)

I have never had a problem with GoDaddy, plus when you call their customer support (which I did one time) they are actually there, present and accounted for. They also call you to thank you for your business...

They maybe more expensive, but it is worth the price in my opinion.

I also used to be with IXWebhosting and came away from them and went to Bluehost.com and have had no problems at all. Customer support is great on the couple of occasions I got confused with something, my fault not theirs.

Another choice but slightly limited with storage and bandwidth is d9 hosting.

    Hope that assists.

Define good uptime - what is good to you? I average 99.98% on my own hosting company and it can do ecommerce, and it's right on the Mzima backbone.

HostGator you'll get closer to about 99.91%, they can barely keep above their uptime guarantee. BlueHost you'll get better uptime than hostgator, but their prices are higher.

My vote goes with Hostgator as well. Never had any problem with it.
