Best Host for Vbulletin

For those who run Vbulletin software, which host do you use and how has it worked out?

    Is your forum well trafficked?

I'm leaning towards bluehost, but I want to see if there are any recommendations for bluehost or otherwise on the best server to keep vbulletin on.

Bluehost is good, But if your forum has much traffic, you should go with VPS or Server

Well from personal experience I've learned that Bluehost is still the best so far. I'll post some experiences I've had with other hosting providers below. :D

    HostGator
    -----------
    Good script compatibility
    No downtime so far
    Good customer support

    Media Temple
    -----------
    Great hosting
    Awesome support
    Fast servers

    Con: Expensive
*Had some major issues with their servers last year

    Vexxhost
    ------------
By far the wost hosting provider I ever used
Massive downtimes (Usually daily - 6-8 hours)
Horrible support - Phone support is an answering machine (Support staff are unkind and disrespectful toward their clients)

"You get what you pay for"

    Hostitplanet
    -------------
Slow server -probably hosted on a VPS
Still waiting for a refund that has not come yet...

    Godaddy
    -------------
    Slow web loading time
    Pretty bad support
    Minor/Moderate downtime (weekly usually)

*Used cheapest linux hosting last time

    Apthost
    -------------
    Awesome host
Support is good but a bit slow
    Has FFMPEG support

    Subdesign7
    -------------
    Servers is horribly slow
    Has FFMPEG
Lacks support - 1 man company
"You get what you pay for"

If you have a big board I would suggest you going to a VPS or some type of semi-dedicated non-oversold host as most of the bigger (overselling) hosts will simply suspend you for too much resource usage, that's just how it works up there.

    I agree with Lucas

Go for a VPS and avoid all the trouble of switching hosts later

I am sleeping better ever since I switched to Media Temple
Their Grid Server is for Hobbyists but,
their Dedicated Virtual (a VPS really) is pretty good

I have posted some Discount Offers here if you are interested

so the the post above mine:rolleyes:
Most links that people post when asking for a host will go to pages with affiliate links.
Not really something out of the ordinary ;)

I would personally avoid MediaTemple, I'm with them right now, and they're always having mysql issues, grid issues... I'm looking to switch.

For startup forums, its good idea go with hostgator. If you have timeout problems, just talk to the support; ask them increase query execution time.

From the experience I have with them, I can say they are good; hands down.
