Does anyone have a large vbulletin forum? If so, what host are you using and can it handle the large database?

I have used hostmonster for over three years but now that the database is so large, hostmonster is not working for me. I am looking for a server/host that can handle a large vbulletin forum.

Thanks in advance for your help.

How many concurrent users? It all depends how their database servers are set up, and how much traffic you're getting vs the resources used...Depending on your needs, I may suggest you get a VPS, but I'm curious if you'd actually need it.

Personally, I would move to a VPS - shared hosting accounts aren't supposed to serve large websites.

Ive been using rackspacecloud for a few years now, its fantastic.

Costs do start at $150 per month, but its totally reliable. Im currently hosting http://seoforums.org on it (alexa 8000), and other sites that get the occasional day with 100,000 visitors. Never had any downtime issues.

You could probably toss it into the Amazon cloud services if you wanted something ultra reliable/scalable and didn't want to manage your own hardware...

You must think of going to at least an VPS if you can't afford a Dedi yet.
VPS these days are very cheap and you could easily get managed vps with good configs for about a max $50 per month for 1gb ram and 2TB bandwidth. Un-Managed plans are much cheaper. I would recommend u to look at wht for more such offers.

Wired Tree, Servint, HostV, Future Hosting, KnownHost are some leading VPS providers which might be cheaper, reliable and affordable to you

You should get your own dedicate server, otherwise you'll lose your visitor.

Don't need a dedicated server, just get a VPS until you out grow it. Then get a Dedicated Server.
