Best graphic software

I'm looking to create graphics for my web page and was wondering which software is the best. Are there any free ones out there for recommendation?

 

Photoshop is the best FOR ME...

If your budget is limited, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe PaintShop Pro.
But I suggest doing it right the first time if you're gonna do it.

That is a momentary decision. I mean a normal newbie wouldn't think of terms such as "open source alternative" while looking for a good graphic design software.

I mean, I have read the forums a lot. And am fully aware that such questions are growing repetitive. But my point was that, the user concerned (the OP in this case) has full rights to ask for opinions on the Graphics Section of a User Driven Website. If he doesn't, I think the whole purpose of a "FORUM" is defied?

Get a Photoshop trial. By the time you've finished your thirty days, am sure you can rake in enough to get a license.

Also, look for special offers from License vendors. It's Christmas and you can get Photoshop for some really good prices.

 

This question has been answered many times on this forum, just search 'photoshop alternative' and you'll be directed to a bunch of replies that'll be identical to what you'll get here - 'I like photoshop', 'gimp', 'paintshop', 'gimp and photoshop'. It's just pathetic what some people write, and there's no need to give people an oppertunity to write it all over again by posting what's already been answered.

And as far as the website I linked to is concerned, I just searched on google for 'photoshop alternatives', nothing incredibly learned about that.

 

There is a student version of photoshop you can purchase at a huge discount if you're a student. Or even if you're not a student and know a student who's id card you could borrow.

Most people however use Photoshop.

I found that Photoshop is easier to learn from my own experience especially how it allows the designer to out a picture to html after it's sliced.

If you really want to learn Graphics then you surely have to get Photoshop...It is the Holy Grail of Graphic Designers. Well I think you should break the piggy bank of yours now.... You can also give GIMP a try as a secondary tool. Also you can try out with GimpShop it gives Gimp the look and feel of Photoshop if you really cannot rake out any money.

U can,t beat Photoshop with any software in market,

It has a complete range of designing tools to create your desired effects n combinations.
I m using it since 5 Years, Me very happy with that.

 

Its not just down to good software but how well you can use it, its your skills that will determine the quality of the work, the tools are important but say if you open photoshop and haven't got a clue what to do with it then it makes no difference.

You want best and free?

 

Go for PhotoShop if you can afford it... If not, then Gimp can help you a little bit.
