Hi everyone, I came across a very detailed and technical checklist for Google SEO best practices. I blogged about it on my blog at links.com: Google SEO Checklist I have performed lots of SEO experiments on my site and this checklist seems to be the closest that I have found that reflects my own findings. If anyone wishes to discuss it, please leave a comment or we can talk about it here. Of particular note is this is the only checklist that I have seen that mentions how Google is now using traffic metrics to assist it in making its decisions. This is rarely mentioned. Most checklists emphasize backlinks which I have found to be out-of-date information.
Yeah, i just read it. At first i thought it was just the usual obvious stuff but there are a few nuggets of good info in there. Google: your competitors can do 'almost' nothing to hurt you lol
From what I can tell it is kept up to date. It has information that no other checklist I have seen has. If anyone knows of a better list, let me know and I will update my blog post. Thanks.
Yes, you have to know about SEO to unearth some of the more subtle pieces of information contained in this list. Some that is not widely disseminated. Overall, the best I have seen and most compact.
Did you read the part of Page Metrics? This is very current and for some SEO specialists very controversial - many still denying it. Backlinks are still important for driving traffic which may ultimately affect the metrics which probably are the most important factor at this time. Have you another SEO checklist that includes this kind of information? If so, I would very much like to see it and update my blog post.
Actually, i saw alot of new things in there. However, it would be much better if the page's interface be redesigned. It looks like one of those spam sites. hehe.. peace.
Totally agree. With so much great information it wouldn't take much effort to clean up the appearance. I do not know why he doesn't given the effort that was put into this.
Do you know of a list that is more comprehensive and current. I do not. But would like to see a list if there is one. Thanks.
I'd say its more helpful for people starting out, won't help experienced seo experts much. I have to say this, that is a sweet domain you got there << strong jealousy here
I agree. I think that people who are just starting out should study it carefully, especially before they spend lots of money on worthless backlinks. Any SEO effort has to be finely tuned with a combination of content, domain name selection, and links that will send traffic that is interested in the site's content. Thanks for your comment.
I enjoyed the list I think you can lay it out better for easier readability. Keyword stemming is also called using keyword variants. Also Google looks at how long the domain is registered for...they put less reliance and trust on domains that are registered year by year(doorway domains) than the domains that are registered for 10 years.
Hi, Thanks for the comment. Yes, this is my domain but I would rather not discuss its value on this thread. SEO and Google are my primary interest right now. Thanks again. Rich
Yes, I totally agree. Google seems to put a lot of emphasis on the the number of years that I domain has been registered. Thanks for the additional point.
