I think one of the best one is 3d ftp, ease to use and faster than the others.

"There are a few drawbacks to 3D-FTP that you need to be aware of when determining whether this is the right FTP client for you. First, the client takes a bit longer to load than most FTP clients, due most likely to the intricacies of the 3D interfaces. The client is also rather annoying in that every possible command -- from uploading and downloading files to closing the application -- is preceded by a warning message, and each type of message must be turned off individually in order to prevent it from appearing every time in the future.

Quite a few advanced features found in competing clients like FTP Voyager and CuteFTP are also noticeably absent in 3D-FTP. These include a file find feature, filtering capabilities, a customizable toolbar (for the standard Windows interface), site bookmarks, custom commands, macro recording capabilities, and an option for automatic conversion of file names on transfer."

Filezilla is great! I used some others in the past but the ease of use of filezilla makes it my choice.

For those using FTP, I recommend using encripted mode.
I'm using Filezilla with mode SFTP / SSH2.

SmartFTP! Agree with everyone who is written about it, I think it is the best free one out there.

Let us know what you think of it.

If you're on Linux I have to recommend gFTP, its an excellent and easy to use FTP client.

    Another vote here for filezilla.

I've been using for months now and I'm happy with it.

I am quite comfortable with FileZilla mainly due to it being open source and free. The program is simple and easy enough to use.

    In Windows:

The native ftp clients are crap. I've installed FileZila and used it quite a bit. Like most gui apps, it does the usual stuff very easily and does the unusual stuff with great reluctance. Once I tried Firefox's Fire-ftp, I never went back. Very easy to use, even the odd stuff. I would recommend Fire-ftp without reservation.

    In Linux:

The native ftp clients are all (so far) great. The cli BSD ftp client is the gold standard. I also use Fire-ftp with the same satisfaction as in Windows.

    In conclusion:

If you're lucky enough to work in a modern OS, use Fire-ftp or the cli client of your choice. If you're stuck in a Windows environment, go with Fire-ftp.

    cheers,

    gary

I'm a big fan of Filezilla. I like SmartFTP though for being able to synchronize two websites' files together, though.
