OK for me the best ftp clients are:
-File zilla because we all love their softs.
-Coffee Cup because i started out with them.
-Tucows because my mom used to use that client and i laughed at the cow that showed files were uploading.

    CoreFTP is better.
I use FileZilla at work and I have problems.
Sometimes it doesn't connect to servers or doesn't recognize certain types of files.

Are most of these free? I use CoreFTP which is, and it's been fine so far, but (I know this sounds sad) I get bored with programs easily...time to try something new, I think!

Ive used Fireftp for a good year now and i'll never download anything else. I've used ws ftp, smart ftp, filezilla, and cuteftp. All are generally about the same (ws ftp is the best outside of the free zone) but if you're looking for a free ftp program use FireFTP the plugin for firefox. It supports drag and drop, and allows you to work much faster with less applications by integrating firefox and ftp.

FilleZilla allows you to sycronize server and local folders, queue multiple files from diffrent folders as you move through folders, and tramsfer on 'Enter', if the file is selected. thats pretty much what i need so, its fine for me

FileZilla is nearly standard these days, I use it and I would definitely recommend it.

If I am constantly uploading and changing a single file I use Command Prompt FTP, since it doesn't lock the file in for editing.
