Best Free Web Directories

I have just completed a major update to my best free web directories list. Actually it is up to 3 pages now. The directories that have not added sites after 2-3 months have been pushed back to the last page. There are about 45 good free directories reviewed.

I have another 70+ that I am looking at. I am limiting additons to the free directory list to sites that are actively adding free listings.

Can anyone recommend additional free directory sites that has listed their links in the last 2 months? The directory should be SEO friendly and have a PR of a least 3. Thanks.

If I can add a suggestion, make some of the categories sortable. That would be fantastic for PR and paid info. Looks good though.

 

Take a look at my list (the excel), and glean any extra's from that. The directories that have added me have a green link, the ones that haven't are in blue.

 

I suggest free-webhosts.com or maybe Dmoz

I have been working hard at it and the list is getting better. It's a lot of work to keep it up-to-date. There are hundred's of directories out there. I'll submit some sites to a directory and get fast approvals. Three monhts later I'll sumbit sites to the same directory doesn't get around to adding free submissions.

Just have to keep submitting sites.

 

Thanks for the great resource! Kinda off subject, but I have the directory guy's attention... does directory submission actually help out your PR??? Should you reciprocate links with many of them or not???

 

I am absolutly sure that directory submission can and will help your PR. Get you site listed on a page with PR and it will pass it on to your site. That is if it dosen't use a redirect script. I only do recips with related content sites.

 

As Web Gazelle said, a link in a directory will pass PR as long as the page you are on gets indexed by Google.

I wouldn't reciprocate if I didn't have to. There are exceptions with some good webmaster directories or industry specific directories that might give you good PR and targeted traffic.

 

We have a new one at http://www.kingbloom.com that is a PR4 and is actively adding sites daily. I've seen 630 + sites added since 1/28/05. It is SEO friendly and well indexed.

I have my doubts about the accuracy of the toolbar. Did you try "kingbloom.com" or www.kingbloom.com?

Which IMHO is a flaw/bug in the SE world. www. and no www. are the SAME thing. At least they should be.

As per QuickDNS and BIND I have always set up an A record for domain.com and a cname of www for that name. They are one in the same and should be treated as such by the SE's. Anyway, that is another topic for debate.

Congratulations. KingBloom has been added to the best free web directories list. You do have a nice directory that should have a great future.

I had already found the site and submitted a couple of sites a week ago. You will have to keep up the good work and the fast approvals as I will be submitting my other 16 sites at some time in the future.

The rest of your rank will be based on your PR and backlinks. Your total backlinks are on the low side right now.
