Best Free Software to Change Kilobyte to Megabyte

    Hi everyone,
I have a new question. I am in urgent need of INCREASING the size of an image from kilobyte to megabyte.
I have looked everywhere for software to help me with this, but I'm finding those that want me to decrease the size or crop the picture. I don't want to do either one. I tried Picwand and Image Resizer, but Picwand cut off part of my image, and Image Resizer wouldn't increase to megabyte. I have also tried Paint and Paint 3D. NOTHING WORKS!
I am on a deadline to get this image converted. If you know of a free software or online image converter, can I trust my images to be removed from their server? I need your help please!
    Thank you.

Is it as simple as just saving it in a fatter format, like a TIFF?
Can you stuff the exif data with lorem ipsum text?

I'm intrigued, what is the benefit of increasing the file size? You can't improve the quality, so there seems to be no benefit.

    Hi Sarahk,
I had the same question of why to increase the size?
I have a friend who wants to use some of their photos as promotional material. And I have heard of other people doing this in case they want to download a larger image.

@LadyC I get that you might publish an optimised image and make a high quality (and therefore larger) image available but if you are just tampering with the optimised image then you aren't going to improve the quality. Just making the file size larger achieves nothing.

I understand that you want to add more detail to your image. If this is the case, then what you want to do is called "image upscaling", so google for "image upscaler" or "image upscaling" and you will find tools that do just that. The best ones are based on AI techniques.

Here is a really good one: https://magnific.ai/

    Hello Pasqal,
Thank you so much for the advice and direction. I took a look at the site, and it looks like something I could use. I will look into it.
