Many good hints above. Here's another tip that works for me to get new inner pages indexed quickly: I have a "Recent..." section on my PR5 home page. When I add a new inner page, I place a link to it from my "Recent..." section on the home page. And I keep it there at least until the new page is indexed, which is usually pretty soon.
