I was reading an article on Entrepreneur.com and came across one about the best franchises of 2006. Interestingly enough, Subway Restaurants was ranked #1. http://www.entrepreneur.com/franzone...,5831,,00.html I was reading some more, and even more intriguing was the fact that the franchise fee is only $12.5K, a bargain compaired to #1 franchise (in total sold) McDonalds, which costs $45K. Subway: http://www.entrepreneur.com/franzone...?section=costs McDonalds: http://www.entrepreneur.com/franzone...?section=costs All in all, if anybody is looking at starting a restaurant, Subway could be the way to go.
I disagree, this is completely based on location. I would never buy a franchise based on one of these surveys. For instance, in my location, subway restaurants are doing horrible. They had to cut back hours BIG time, and made it to where after 7 pm, there is usually only one person working. that means they do EVERYTHING. cashier, make subs, bake/prep food, everything. I would never invest in a subway based on what i've seen.
