I'm learning programming now and want to ask for help in the forums, currently I know that digitalpoint, sitepoint, codecall, daniweb, tek-tips etc are the forums for programming. Can anybody tell me other best forums for programming which I can get fast and correct answers for php, perl, asp, java, etc? Thanks a lot.
Any more? Can anybody suggest some experts who will offer fast and exact answers in php? In perl I knew one called Kevin ADC, who can always give you quick and correct answers.
You already have the biggest and best that I know of for serious programming rather than web stuff: CodeGuru, DevShed, and DaniWeb. I do a lot of programming in C++ so these are the forums I usually check out. However, there are a few others I know of, covering a variety of topics: Dream.In.Code Forums http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/ VB Forums http://www.vbforums.com/ C++ Forums http://www.cpp-home.com/forum/ Coding Forums http://www.codingforums.com/ DevX Forums http://forums.devx.com/ Hot Scripts Forums http://www.hotscripts.com/forums/ C Programming Forums http://cboard.cprogramming.com/ Code Newbie Forums http://codenewbie.com/forum/ GID Forums http://www.gidforums.com/ I am sure there are a lot more out there, but I am mostly interested in C and C++. To find a topic-specific forum, perhaps do a Google search and constrain your search to URLs that have the term "forum" in them. For example, to find forums that focus on PHP, perhaps do a search like the following: PHP inurl:forum
You already mentioned http://codecall.net but I'm a member there and it's a great programming forum for web developers and software developers, so I definitley recommend it. Ducan check out codecall.net (if you haven't already) - I'm sure you like it there.
Here are two great PHP forums: PHP Freaks http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/ PHP Builder http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/ Most of my favorite forums have already been mentioned, except for these: Ars Technica http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewforum.php?f=20 Whirlpool - Web development and Programming http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/63 http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/127 Google is hopeless for finding forums, this site is much better: http://www.big-boards.com/
