I was just wondering what the best forum software for SEO is, and how to SEO a forum for max results.

What ranks better, PHPBB, SMF, IV.
How about using mod_rewrite and RSS
    Which is more valuable.

I had PHPBB before and couldnt use mod_rewrite and RSS at the same time so I went for RSS.

Looking to start up my forum again.
I wont get hit for duplicate content if its on a new domain and the old site is no longer up.

    Any and all help appreciated.

vbulletin is the only one you should use. You dont need mod_rewrite. This forum does Ok without any seo mods.

I hear SMF indexes pretty well with the engines. The new 1.1 version coming out supposedly is even more SE friendly than 1.0.

phpBB has a few good mods (the best is able2know.com's mod) for SEO, but out of the box, it's not as SE friendly.
