How many concurrent users is your forum going to have? Depending on your answer you'll be needing shared, vps or dedicated hosting. Give us some more information and we'll be able to advise better!
erm im looking to build it to have way over 5k users from all over the world!? sorry im a real newbie at this stuff.
you just need to find a good vps or dedicated server hosting.also look for hosting plan which offer huge mysql databases,because those are crucial for running a forum with heavy traffic.for startup forums godaddy unlimited sharing plan is best.
