Does anyone have any information as to which domain re-selling service (Sedo, Afternic, Flippa, GoDaddy auctions, etc.) can give the best exposure to your domains should you choose to sell them? Alternatively, what did you do to help advertise your domain sale?
Well..One thing you should be taking into consideration is how much commission each of those websites is going to take from your sale. If you look that over I can tell you some are higher than others. Aside from that, also remember that you can list on multiple sites. The domain doesn't have to be parked at Sedo to be listed in your account there. Same with Flippa, you just have to verify ownership. Same with Afternic, I think the domain only has to be parked there if you want to earn parking revenue. Therefor, why not go and list them on all of them? Consider checking out the commission fees and adjusting your pricing on each depending on what you're going to have to pay them for the successful sale.
You need lots and lots of traffic from potential buyer's who are looking to purchase domains to get the best price you're looking for. If I were you, I wouldn't mind spending a few dollars in advertising domains on Flippa or Sedo. I've seen people managing to sell a new domain for $300 surprisingly
I've never known anyone to have success using the promotion on Sedo. In fact, if you read around a little..everyone would tell you NOT to purchase the promotion upgrades on Sedo. Listing on Flippa is always an option if the domain is generic enough to get multiple bids. Otherwise, just send out some friendly emails to relevant buyers and see who is interested. Don't include a price or anything just tell them you notice they own XXXXXX.com and you have XXXXXXX.com for sale or whatever. If you get multiple bites consider listing it on Flippa and then emailing everyone a link to the auction so they can go at it.
That depends upon the type of Domain name you are selling for example if you are looking to sell brandble Domain names then i would recommend Brandbucket or namerific for others i would try Godaddy auctions..
Thanks for the tip. I've already begun compiling a list of similar domains and checking them with whois services. The domains that I'm interested in selling are not really generic enough to generate a whole lot of interest. It's more of a niche that has some staying power (its been holding steadfast in Google Trends with occasional spikes).
