What is the best Ecommerce software out there and what is the most efficient and professional way to handle the transactions.

There is no "best" otherwise there would only be one.... they all have different strengths and weaknesses so it comes down to what you need for your store.

I assume you mean card transactions? If you do then the most professional is by having the transaction take place on site with either a true merchant account and a gateway or a service like PayPal Pro

 

Best ecommerce software is not open source software. If you have plan to run serious business then check x-cart or even Elastic Path(Java based ecommerce system)

 

Oscommerce i guess its the best so far .. and can mod it as u like ..

 

I like Zen Cart. The new version has integrated PayPal Payments Pro so your customers can pay and never have to leave your site.

every employer ask for oscommerce expert.(even though they don't know what it is? )

 

Oscommerce is for small business like dropship products. Real business need commercial shop cart. Personally I never will buy from oscommerce based site because its look like cheap eshop.

I love Avactis it is very easy cart to integrate into site and it has alot of features.
