Hi MechPoint If you want to get started today, the 3 you mention would do the trick. I've not tried CubeCart but have tried both osCommerce and ZenCart for digital downloads. I ended up going with osCommerce simply because I found instructions online (in the osCommerce user forum) to set up digital downloads.
These days most of my online stores, particularly those for digital products ie ebooks, are based on Wordpress with the paid WP-eStore plugin from www.tipsandtricks-hq.com. On one site I have used the free version of WP-eCommerce plugin but I much prefer the WP-eStore plugin - easy to setup & they have a great support forum. Neil

I would highly recommend WooCommerce if you are using wordpress. Its a free plugin. It is a excellent ecomm platform, easy to set up, loads of features, easy to load products, descriptions etc. Also, they have an awesome range of extensions that you can add on. It is a very stable platform. I provide web design for clients and I have them all using Woocommerce. I would not use anything else
