My reply is in general for all of you who are recommending wordpress. What happens in a similar case like this one: http://gizmodo.com/mysterious-russian-malware-is-infecting-over-100-000-wo-1671419522 Do you think that open source solutions are totally secure?
To sell handmade products its best to start eCommerce site with Etsy clone, which will suits your business model also cost effective.
I would go for wordpress with woocommerce. It's much lighter in weight than the big e-commerce platforms, so it loads quicker and looks MUCH smoother.. Also the backend is a delight and it's very customizable.
Mad Moll, I hope your online store is going well, because building an effective web-based business requires discipline, determination, diligence and careful planning. Meanwhile, Smoolis.com is one of the best all-round online store builders with a fully multilingual function I've tested. You have the complete control over your chosen languages. Everything including the cart and checkout process is customizable. Smoolis ecommerce system is by far the best and easiest way to add multiple languages to your online shop. Thank you for mentioned it. From now on i will suggest it to my customers as well.
There are lots of eCommerce platforms used and provide good service for online marketing, if you want to sell your own products then you can use one of these best eCommerce platforms. Ability Commerce Shopify Intuit Ecommerce Big Commerce
Woo commerce you say? Are there any restrictions for other countries, like Australia? I am also in need of a good e-commerce platform
Magento is on the best best ecommerce platforms or you can check out shopify, they have cool themes for ecommerce websites.
Mad Moll, I'm not sure about this but would just like to say I'm looking into this too and all the post are very helpful. Thank you for asking this question as I can't post a thread yet. I'll be following this thread. Thanks.
My suggestion, if you're just starting out and aren't savvy with coding would be Shopify or BigCommerce. Easy setups and great for first time sellers. You can be up in running in a few hours. They're not too flexible with customization, but again easy setup and you can be selling in no time at all. Are you looking to just sell on your site, or are you looking to branch out to multiple sales channels? If you need any more info or advice feel free to PM me. Jim Skubana
Hi , I've been using freewebstore - love this site. I created a page there and have reasonable amount of month sales. I also use ebuyersreviewed before I ship to my buyers.
Sincerely from what i experience lately , i think you just open your shop on facebook that will be the best place, it's free and have most of the visaul ability, and also a good SEO too.
Depends on the goods you want to sell in. If it's a marketplace product mix you'd better take a solution with api integration. Like OT Box for example
