Best ebook strategy?

I am considering writing a new ebook that will be given away on my blog.

The topic will be blogging, but focusing on one certain area. However I was wondering about the best option of distributing it.

I have thought of three ways:

    1. Make People subscribe to email newsletter

    2. Make people subscribe to my blog

    3. Just give the download link, and kindly ask if you would subscribe

I am not really interested in creating a list, so it will be a choice between the last two.

I would love to increase my rss because of this, however I know the ebook will get a much broader reach, and also a much bigger exposure from other blogs if I just give it away no strings attached.

    What do you think?

If it has a highly relevant content make your ebook a big marketing tool with plenty of links to your main blog in it then promote it everywhere

Use parts of the blog and display them on your blog little by little

    You may use this thread:

But 1 question: don't you want to sell your ebook?

I agree with Lastbutnotleast. Considering what you said richkid, I'd advise you to offer it free with no strings attached. This way you can make it viral easier. All though I would also advise you to put tons of affiliate links in there, and include your blog in there multiple times. This way when it gets passed aorund, you will be making money without doing anything.
