    Hello,

Looking for the best ebook compiler out there. Currently using ebookgold, but they are really screwed up. Their main security feature is currently not working, so it's completely useless.

Anyone out there had a a GOOD experience with a compiler that has good security feautures and costs less than $500??

I am also interested in that too. Especially, the security feature. How does a given ebook compiler prevents someone from giving an ebook around and sharing it?

All the ebook compilers out there promise security, but I have yet see them deliver.
for example, ebookgold promises to lock the ebook to the first computer that you open it on (won't work on any other computer, they promise). However, now that I own it, I know it's a complete fraud. I even emailed tech support, and they said not to use that feature as it doesn't work!! And I paid 97 bucks for this hunk of junk!!!!!

treid, why don't you request your money back?
I guess it is easier to make a compiler myself than find a secure one. Anyone else know of a compiler that prevents file sharing?

I was thinking about Ebook Edit Pro. I mistakenly thought you were talking about it. It claims to have a security feature to lock the book to a computer.

Isn't that the one that costs $87? If so, I've tried their demo. It seems to work ok, except I can't figure something out about their security options. What worries me about them is their is no contact info whatsoever, and if you read thier offer carefully, they are the only ones on the market that offer NO GUARANTEE whatsover (no 30 days of money back offer). scary....

This is a list of software that I have found so far:

    ebookcompiler.com

    ebookgold.com

    ebookedit.com

    ebookpro.com

Anyone has any experience with this?

I want to create one ebook and DON'T want to get cracked in a week and then left without money.

Thanks for help. Really would like to hear from someone who actually uses software (doesn't sells it like affiliate)

Why don't you just put the buyer's name, customer number, and e-mail address at the bottom of every page in the e-book so if you find it out there on the internet you know who to sue? Just back up your sales database..

What I mean by this is they seem to be very concerned with the security of the eBook and not being able to use it on more than one computer, etc.

Rather than waste all of your time on that issue, since the eBook will be copyrighted, they should make sure they actually file a copyright (it costs less than $20 to do) and then have your eBook software print the buyer's name, customer number, and e-mail address at the bottom of each page of the PDF file.

That way if you ever find a copy of your eBook being copied/distributed on the internet somewhere you know exactly whose licensed copy was distributed - and so you know who is guilty of copyright violations. :)

hey, that's excellent idea. do you have any idea how to automate this process? I don't want to manually put this info in every ebook that its downloaded.
