I am looking for the best forum module to install with Drupal. Requirements are: - Stable and approved - Easy to style / reuse styles from mother drupal setup - Min 2 levels of forum subgroups - Possible to PM - Possible to setup min 3 user levels, which in best case can be configured from the overall Drupal user group admin - Possible to blacklist users - Possible to auto login via OpenID or similar shared login services Nice to haves are: - Rating / karma system - Signatures - Widget support - Polls There really is a lot out there - Advanced Forum or an import of a PHPbb forum looks like the most obvious. Looking forward to your reply.
I use Advanced Forum: - Stable and approved - Mostly - Easy to style / reuse styles from mother drupal setup - Yes - Min 2 levels of forum subgroups - yes (build into Drupal core) - Possible to PM - yes, using the messaging module which integrates nice with Advanced Forum - Possible to setup min 3 user levels, which in best case can be configured from the overall Drupal user group admin - yes - standard Drupal Access Control - Possible to blacklist users - Yes, using standard core functions, more control using the TROLL module - Possible to auto login via OpenID or similar shared login services - havn't tried this one Nice to haves are: - Rating / karma system - yes - voting API, 5Star, UserBadges modules - Signatures - yes - Widget support - ?? - Polls - Sorta - not "in" a forum post I do virtually all these things in my forum using Advanced Forum and the modules i listed (and many more) on Drupal 5.x
@Tearabite: Thanks for the feedback. It looks like you have modded Drupals own forum by adding additional modules. Besides from those mentioned in your post, what else do you find critical to install?
