I don't care how big of a name some of the other famous drummers have, Phil is the best skill wise:
He is a known singer of the early 80's and his first solo song, "In the Air Tonight," became a number two hit in his native United Kingdom.
Phil rules! And his talent as a drummer is one of the best ones. We can't even compare him with Ringo Starr or any other singing drummers and know Phil as a wonderful composer.
I'm pretty sure from what I've been hearing that Ringo Starr would not be able to play the way Phil did in the OP video.
Not sure if he's known mostly for his singing. I think he's pretty much the most famous drummer in the world. Well, among those over 25 I suppose. My username is based on a Genesis album, so you can guess my bias in terms of this topics question To quote him "the drummer is the backbone of the group, you can have a really bad band and a really good drummer and it will come out sounding good. Not that he included Genesis in this catagory. But he did work with some bad bands over the years and made them sound amazing...Live Aid?
"In the Air Tonight," best drum breakdown in the 80's no doubt. Best drummer ever? I'd have to give that to Buddy Rich
Another singer/drummer = Don Henley of The Eagles. Phil Collins was a panty dropper back in his heyday.
Best drummer of all times? here he is: M
Lars Ulrich is the best drummer. I think that he is one of the reasons why Metallica's music remains, until now.
Rob Bourdon for me rather I haven't gone through with most popular once but he is my most favorite drummer.
