Best Domain Choice?

I'm going to be starting an Australian Reptile Forum.

After a bit of keyword research I've narrowed it down to a few domains.

I want to know which will be better. Either:

One word domain, describes the topic ie. reptiles.com
Two word domain, describes the website ie. reptile-forum.com
One word domain, describes part of the topic ie. boas.com

I'm thinking the first one may be the best. Still not sure though. Any experienced people want to help?

well what i suggest you to go with One word domain which describes the topic ie. reptiles.com because later on you can add more species of reptiles , way of living ETC bonus point is that you can display any content in root of you site and can install forum or blog in some other folder plus domain will show that site is about reptiles ,,,but if you will go with reptile-forum.com that you have to install only forum in root and later on it will be difficult to change content , on other side if you will go with boas.com than you have to stick with only 1 topic thus there will be very less people which ll be searching on that particular topic rather than whole term reptiles ..........I hope this post will help you

    Thanks

General domains (like the one word domain above) are good if you plan on expanding, but the more specific you can be, the better targeted the visitor you'll get. If someone's looking for information on a specific type of boa, for example, they'll probably be more likely to visit a site called specific-type-of-boa.com (and be more likely to take advantage of whatever you're advertising).

I agree with Sarah. One word domains give you room for expansions and growth. But the more specific you get with the domain name the more targeted your niche will be and hence your visitors. YET, do not get as specific as the third option. Although in my opinion, as long as you optimize well the domain can be pretty much anything, but optimization will be harder.
