Just wanted to open a poll and to know your opinions regarding this:

for sure..

 

I installed and ran esydnacat, sitesift and another one (cant rember the name) all had thier problems. I then tried phplinkdirectory, I have been happy so far apart from the fact the validation code(when user submits they put in a code) dosen't work for me becuase my server dosen't have the relevant software installed.

So phplinkdirectory beats them all.

this poll is pointless.

 

Site-Sift Listings using it with my Web Directory happy with it, programmed it into css valid style! and according w3, ofcourse

Futher made some modifications and it's working very well at the moment!

 

phpLD. and the one I am creating of my own which will soon be realeased.

 

I see a lot of votes that go to the phpld script (in this thread and in many others).
The developers of the script must have done something right if they have such a huge fan base - and I salute them for that.

However, I rarely see a phpld based site that ranks really well in Google results - for competitive keywords.
If you're just managing your link exchanges, maybe it's not that important - but when your whole site is a niche directory, it is a problem.

Can someone contradict me and bring examples of phpld based directories that rank really well for competitive keywords?

I created this poll to know the opinions of directory owners and others.
To have a brief view on which is best to use.

 

I use both esyndicat and phpld. Each have their advantages and faults. I like the look and ease of use of esyndicat in the admin part but I like the ease of modification changes to phpld.

One advantage esyndicat has is an unlimited version for 150, if you have a lot of directories that is very nice

 

I suppose he said it's pontless because after a few votes it became quite obvious that phpld is the one I use it too, so that's another vote from me
