I'm using LMA Directory Script and Ska Links. According to me LMA and SkaLinks Directory Scripts are best.

phpld for a web directory .. that's my opinion and advice for you.

 

I'm pretty fond of www.phplinkdirectory.com myself. However, there are many fine directories out there. My advice would be to think about exactly which features you want and then ask which scripts support those features. Threads asking which directory is best tend to degenerate into arguments about why xyz is better than abc.

 

I second I've been using phpLD for sometime now...lol even moderate there hehe...it's a great script and easy to learn...

but at linkbid...phpLD offers a link bid of their script

Web directories: Its a toss between phpLD, phpLynx, IndexU, etc. although I do use phpLD for all of my web directories and cannot vouch for the others.

Bid directories: phpLB, hands down

the question you asked has many answers. There are prolly a several hundred to few thousand folks that venture through this forum daily. To make things simple, concise and save you time...just read my response.

-Most in this forum will recommend phpLink Directory
-Opinions on directoiry scripts are like assholes...everyone has one!
-Forget about importing DMOZ garbage. Most of the scripts have that capability or tools available to do so....however unless it has changed, I think the ODP has stopped exports. Besides that....unless your starting a Link Farm full of spam links and other garbage...you don't want DMOZ shit in your directory anyway.
-They all support any "theme" of directory you want pretty much...including Adult Content.

Only you can decide what a good script is. YOU need to do the homework and make that decision. Do you base your decision on whom you date, what car you buy or what food you eat on the opinions of others? Prolly not.
