Best Directory For Generating Traffic?

    Are there any Directories that you can get a high volume of traffic from if you were listed within the directory?

    You really don't submit to directories for traffic. Even the likes of Dmoz doesn't send much traffic. But they are great to get one way links.

    Well directories don't really help in getting volumes of traffic. So just don't totally rely upon them!!

    90% of directories will bring a good amount of spammers to your sites

    I just hear that Google is not giving so much importance to directory submission. But i think for new sites its still good.

    While I would agree it's not a primary reason, it is still a reason. Directories do generate traffic. They do it both directly and indirectly via the links they have indexed in various search engines.

    I don't think a defunct, out of date, no longer functioning directory like the ODP is the best example to illustrate your point. The reality is, many directories do indeed generate traffic, and those that list can attest to it.
